Upline Translate · WordPress plugin

Translate your WordPress site. Skip the subscription.

Upline Translate puts your site in any language on your own Google key. You pay Google pennies (most small sites pay nothing), not $12 a month forever.

Works with block themes and WooCommerce · Unlimited languages · No account with us · Translations live in your database

[swap] Language Switcher dropdown open on a real header (TCI), or an English/Spanish side-by-side

How it works

Four steps, about ten minutes, no code.

Step 1

Pick your languages

Add as many as you want: Spanish, French, Portuguese, Arabic (right-to-left handled).

Step 2

Paste your Google key

Your own Google Cloud key. The bill goes to you, not us.

Step 3

Translate the whole site

One button. Pages translate in the background, and every string is saved so it never gets paid for twice.

Step 4

Drop in the switcher

Add the Language Switcher block to your header. Visitors pick a language; URLs become /es/, /fr/ and so on.

After that it runs itself: new posts and products translate automatically, and you can review and fix any line by hand.

Editions

Both have unlimited languages. Pro adds stores, extra engines, and translator tools.

Before you install

Requirements and what it costs to run.

  • WordPress 6.4 or newer
  • PHP 7.4 or newer
  • Block (FSE) themes recommended; classic themes work via the shortcode
  • WooCommerce for store features (Pro)
  • A Google Cloud account with billing turned on and a Cloud Translation API key

What Google charges

About $10 of free credit a month per billing account, roughly 500,000 characters. After that, about $20 per million characters.

A typical small site translates once for free; after that only new or changed text costs anything. Sites sharing one billing account share one free credit.

Self-hosted AI (Pro)

No per-character cost; you pay for the server.

Questions

Who pays for translation?

Whoever owns the Google key. For client sites, set the Google account up under the client’s own login so the bill is theirs.

Do I need an account with Upline?

No. Nothing goes through us. Text goes from your site to the engine you choose, and translations are stored on your site.

Will it translate new posts and products automatically?

Yes. New or changed text is picked up and translated in the background.

Can I fix a bad translation?

Yes. Edit it on the review screen and approve it. Approved text is never overwritten by the machine.

I edited an approved line. Now what?

Save and approve it again.

What if I stop using it?

Your translations stay in your database. Uninstalling the plugin removes them only if no other edition is installed.

Is it good for SEO?

Yes: real language URLs, hreflang, translated meta and a sitemap per language, so Google indexes each version.

Can I keep brand names in English?

Add them to the glossary, or add the notranslate class to a block.

Does Pro need a license key?

Yes. The key activates Pro on your site and delivers updates. Agency keys cover unlimited sites.

Refunds?

14 days, no questions asked.
